Punt, Pass and Kick Cancer’s Butt!

kel and ND guys

While the guys are off golfing with the Utah Association for Justice, a couple of our female associates were attending Fundraisers to raise awareness for women’s issues.  This June our associate, Sallie Younger-Rawlings along with our former California Office Manager, Kelley Younger,  attended the Kelly Cares Foundation 101 in South Bend, Indiana at the University of Notre Dame.  This event raises money for Breast Cancer research.

The Kelly Cares Foundation was established by Notre Dame  Head Football Coach Brian Kelly and his  wife Paqui to support organizations, initiatives and programs that closely align with the goals and values of the Kelly family.  Did you know one in eight women will get breast cancer in her lifetime? Every 13 minutes a woman dies of breast cancer.  However, more than 1.7 million women who have had breast cancer are still alive in the United States.  Ninety-six percent of women who find and treat breast cancer early will be cancer-free after five years.

It was a fabulous event where we actually got to play and speak with the new and up and coming Notre Dame Football team.  The guys were such good sports teaching us the fundamentals of football and how to pass (and not throw like a girl) and kick a field goal.  It was a sold out event of about 650 women who raised close to $200,000 in one day!   Kelley Younger, in this picture is a gem among giants.  Such a great day and heart- warming event towards such a worthy cause.  Just one of the many ways our Firm expects our associates to give back to the community.
